Expanding Beyond One-to-One Sessions for Anxiousness
After 15 years in practice, I'm excited to offer small group courses and workshops alongside my individual and relationship counselling. These sessions provide a community focused, conversational way to access support and learn together.
I only share what I know works. I am currently working a lot in the area of anxiety, not in the pathological sense but in the human experience sense, and I have built up genuine expertise and a proven track record of helping people create positive change in this area.
My Experience
Just because I am a therapist, I am not immune to the emotional challenges people face. What helps me navigate these is self-awareness and understanding the bigger picture of mental and emotional wellbeing. I want to share these insights with you. My most powerful training in anxiety was going through a time of experiencing it myself. I recall GP appointments and referrals to specialists to determine what was wrong and why I had the physical symptoms I did, only to have one specialist mention stress; I actually said, “I can’t be stressed, I am training to be a therapist!” This was the lightbulb moment for me as I heard myself out loud. This was a few years ago now. I do not believe we cure ourselves from being anxious but we can learn to take the power out of it and work with it. Ironically, when we know longer fear something, it slowly dissipates.
My courses explore the 'why' behind our experiences, the 'how' of making changes, and the 'when' of applying new understanding. We'll unpack what's happening and move toward fuller, more satisfying lives. We will also briefly visit the origins of some of your behaviours and emotions by looking at intergenerational patterns, so that we can begin to break cycles if they are unhelpful.
My Approach
With 9 years of core training, ongoing research, and hands-on experience, I offer a cost-effective, friendly approach to wellbeing. I adapt specific methods for each group, making every course feel personal and relevant.
Since the quality of our relationships impact the quality of our lives, its important to factor this in when trying to make sense of our struggles. I'll offer you fresh ways to think about your life, relationships, and wellbeing—and practical tools to make changes, when you are ready
About the Courses
These courses are designed for people wanting to work on specific issues, gain understanding about mental health topics, or develop greater self-awareness. All sessions are facilitated by me, there is no recording of sessions and all attendees will be required to agree to an ethical working agreement; feeling safe is paramount.
Small Groups, Personal Attention
With just 6 people maximum, you'll get personalised support, meaningful discussions, and experiential learning. There's no pressure to share personal details, but many find that connecting with others in similar situations helps them feel less alone.
What to Expect
Before you book, we'll have a consultation chat so I can learn about you, your hopes for the course, and answer any questions. This ensures the course is right for you. My delivery style is relational and I share knowledge in a conversational style, without pressure or expectation.
Each course is semi-structured—we work toward clear outcomes while also addressing your unique needs. You'll receive resources and a reflection journal to continue your growth after the course ends.
Who is this course for?
Anyone who wants to learn more about anxiety and the forms it can take; overthinking, fear of being out of control, people pleasing, avoidance, self esteem, worrying, catastrophising, needing to keep busy, irrational thinking styles, to name a few ways that being anxious can manifest.
Important to Know
The course is not group therapy, It’s an informal, friendly space to explore mental health and wellbeing topics. It does not replace individual counselling and is not suitable for addressing unresolved significant trauma.
The course may not be suitable if you have ongoing and enduring emotional struggles, individual counselling may be more appropriate in this instance.
